Life Legacy

Steven Brauser surrendered to the Lord July 15, 2011, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. Diagnosed with stage four colon cancer in October 2007, Steve exceeded all expectations of his illness.

Born March 26, 1954, in Portland, Steve attended St. John Fisher and Wilson High schools and graduated from Portland State University.

Steve married Karen June 19, 1992. He won the family lottery in gaining Michael, Sarah and Erin. The circle was complete when Megan was born.

Steve became a partner and launched Western Pacific Building Materials Co. in 1993. As sales manager, he gained top sales performance every year despite his many health obstacles.

He was a member of St. John Fisher Church, never missing Sunday Mass even when he was at his worst health. He received his last communion from Megan, a Eucharistric Minister.

The most important element in Steve's life was his love for his family. He never missed a child's ball game or a father-daughter dance. The family home in Lincoln City was a favorite getaway, as the extended family gathered, providing very special memories.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; children, Michael, Sarah, Erin and Megan; parents, Bud and Agnes Brauser; brother, Michael; and sisters, Nancy and Barbara. Steve was a beloved member of the Brauser, Patterson and Bochsler families.
