Eleanor Elizabeth (Dunham) Smith

Eleanor Elizabeth Smith , was born Eleanor Elizabeth Dunham , in Portland Oregon on September 17,1940. Her parents Allan and Helen Dunham raised Ellie and her brother, David in Lake Oswego , Oregon. Ellie married Robert Smith in 1962 and raised four children. She was a homemaker who also participated in the Lake Grove Presbyterian Church, Lake Oswego Garden Club, the Assistance League of Portland and many charities over the years. 

In 1986, Ellie started her career in the travel industry as a travel agent.  After being in the travel field for over 7 years, Ellie returned to school and received her Bachelors Degree in Communications and Gerontology.  A few years later she would receive her masters degree in counseling at Marylhurst University.

 Just a few months after receiving her Masters degree, Ellie suffered a massive stroke at the age of 65, leaving her with left-side paralysis. With her family by her side, through the challenges, Ellie maintained her sense of humor and kept up with social gatherings. Ellie was the type of person who made friends wherever she went. She was very outgoing and enjoyed sharing in conversation with others.

Ellie passed away at the age of 79 in Wilsonville, Oregon on Wednesday January 1, 2020. She leaves behind her four kids, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. 
Ellie was a mother, a grandmother, an angel here on earth who will be missed by many. The loss is immeasurable, but so is the love left behind.
