Carol (Poleo) Torchia

Carol Poleo Torchia was born June 04 1938 in Portland Oregon to Salvatore (Sam) Poleo and Julia (Judy) Oliverio Poleo.   She passed away unexpectedly May 23.

Carol attended Grant High School, graduated from Oregon State University and was a  Sigma Kappa member.  She graduated with a Home Economic Degree and taught at Milwaukie High School for 2 years.

Carol’s parents purchased Sheridan Fruit Company in 1946 with her father’s brother, Larry Poleo.  Sheridan has been in her family since this time and is where she met her husband Vince.  Carol was still helping out working along with her family at the store.

Carol loved spending time with her family and was always there to help.  She was always present at her grandchildrens events.  She enjoyed vacationing to Hawaii, Sun River and the Oregon Coast.  She was able to visit Italy once with Lori as well .  She was a golfer and belonged to Columbia Edgewater Country Club. She loved Days of Our Lives, Cinderella,  Johnny Mathis, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, Il Divo, Jeopardy and The Voice.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents Sam and Judy Poleo and son-in-law Tom Barwick.  Carol is survived by her husband Vince Torchia, daughter Anne Torchia-Barwick, daughter Lori Torchia-O’Leary (Sean O’Leary), grand children Justin Barwick (Caiti), Joshua Barwick (Sachia), Sam O’Leary, Samantha O’Leary, great grandchildren Betty Barwick, Moses Barwick and Elouise Barwick.

A private family service is not yet scheduled.
