Christine Zotter Obituary
Christine Ann Zotter, 65, passed away on June 24, 2025, in Portland, Oregon, while her husband and her son were holding her hand.
Born on December 29, 1959, Christine was a dedicated scholar and professional. She attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic School and Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury, Connecticut. She earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Biochemistry from Boston University in 1982, followed by certification as a Physician Assistant from George Washington University School of Medicine in 1986. She later completed a Master of Science in Public Health Administration at the University of New Haven.
Christine devoted 36 years to her career as a Physician Assistant, healing patients in communities such as Boston, Massachusetts; Farmington, New Mexico; and Portland, Oregon. Her commitment to compassionate care left a lasting impact on those she served.
She was a longtime member of St. Clare Catholic Church in Portland, where she sang joyfully with the St. Clare Choir for over two decades. Christine found great joy in gardening, traveling abroad, especially to Italy and the UK, and piloting single-engine airplanes. She also loved riding her motor scooter and spending time with her beloved dogs, Lana and Rocky.
Christine is lovingly and sorrowfully missed by her husband of nearly 35 years, Paul Resweber, and her son, Michael-Paul Resweber. Also, her sister Donna Hill (Zotter) of Stratford, CT, her brother Michael Zotter of Terryville, CT, her brother Joseph Zotter of Wallingford, CT, and her brother Karl Zotter of Meriden, CT. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Zotter and Basilia Zotter (Pirro).
A visitation will be held on July 9 from 10 to 11 a.m. at The Riverview Abbey, 319 S Taylors Ferry Road, Portland, OR. A Funeral Mass will follow on August 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Clare Catholic Church in Portland, with a celebration of life in the parish hall immediately afterward. Interment will follow at a nearby location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oregon Humane Society, 106 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland, OR 97211, in memory of Christine Zotter.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
