Our beloved Fred Huntsinger departed this earth on May 20, 2026.
Fred was a Local 290 union pipe fitter, and part of the industry since the early 80s.
He is survived by his wife, Amy, his sister Alyce, his four daughters Meachelle, Alysa, Audrey, and Olivia and he was known as Grandpa to 10 wonderful grandchildren.
Fred was an intelligent, charming, handsome, funny, loving family man with a big heart. Family meant everything to him and he would do anything for the ones he loved.
Fred was a mentor by nature. I’m not sure he would say he loved to teach, but he had a way about him that made you want to learn from him. He had a lot of knowledge about so many things
His temper may have been quick to rise, but it was most often amended with a funny joke or some kind of banter that would leave you with no choice but to smile and laugh with him. And that laughter is impressed upon the memories of all who had the pleasure of hearing it.
Despite working long hours he was always working on a car, building or fixing something - never idle except to read a book.
He loved the outdoors, anything mechanical, enjoyed reading about history, had a garden wherever he lived, and he enjoyed cooking, canning and farming. He had an interest in almost every aspect of life and was a man that gave his all everywhere he turned.
