George Edward Poole

George Edward Poole, age 90, passed away December 26, 2021 in his home peacefully with his daughter and family by his side.

He was born in Portland, Oregon, August 19, 1931, to Lelia and Leslie Poole, their only child. He met Donna Lee Estes while he was home on leave from the US Marine Corps. The two were married at All Saints Episcopal, November 8, 1952, and made their home in West Portland. He was a registered Architect with the Bonneville Power Administration for most of his career, where he designed many structures throughout the Pacific Northwest. George was a Fellow in the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors where his knowledge of horological antiquities was sought nationwide. George was a daily swimmer and participated in the Columbia River Cross Channel swim for many years. He was a collector of many things; antique tools, reference books, and, of course, more clocks than you could easily count. Always an expert on each of his treasures.

He was preceded by his loving wife Donna Lee and daughter Melinda Anne Sullivan, and is survived by daughters, Sarah Maurine Krapes, Dana Lynn Moore, and Deborah Jean Poole. He has six grandchildren; Stephanie Catherine Pratz, Kathryn Anne Lane, Brian Allan Moore, Eric Edward Moore, Laura Alexandra Walters, and Grace Elizabeth Poole. His great grandchildren include Faith Lynn McClure, Paige Maria McClure, Damion Henry Albonico, Scarlett Rae Lane, Weston James Lane and Cora June Moore. 

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and community. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society in his name.
