Jayden Nicole McCamont, known to many as “JJ” and, in her own becoming, “Jade,” passed away on April 3, 2026, at the age of 20.
Born on July 21, 2005, in Oregon, Jayden lived a life that refused to be small. She was bold in spirit and unwavering in voice—someone who spoke her mind, stood fiercely for the people she loved, and carried a strength that was unmistakably her own. Her personality was vivid and unfiltered, layered with sharp wit and dry humor that could catch you off guard and leave you laughing anyway.
Jayden was adventurous to her core. She chose a life of freedom and movement, traveling across the United States and seeing more of the country than most ever will. She found joy and contentment living in her bus alongside her fiancé, Kashish Walker, embracing a life that reflected her independence and love for experience over convention.
She was deeply creative—a writer, an artist, and a photographer—someone who saw the world through a unique lens and captured it in ways that invited others to see it differently too. Her work, like her life, carried honesty, edge, and depth.
On April 3, 2026, Jayden and her fiancé, Kashish Walker, tragically lost their lives in a hotel fire. Though her life was far too short, it was undeniably full—lived on her terms, with courage, curiosity, and a refusal to blend into the background.
She is survived by her father, John; her mother, Kelly; her brother, Dustin; her grandfather, Richard; her uncle, Dusty; her aunties, Jill and Sandy; her cousins, Alyssa, Tara, and Ella; and by all those who followed her journey and felt connected to her adventures across America.
Jayden will be remembered for her fierce loyalty, her fearless authenticity, and the way she made people feel—whether that was laughter, surprise, or a deeper understanding of the world around them. She did not live quietly, and she will not be remembered quietly.
“Let not your hearts be troubled… In My Father’s house are many rooms… I go to prepare a place for you.” — John 14:1–3
Though our hearts are broken by the timing, we believe her life was complete in God’s hands. He has called her home, and in that truth, we find hope—that this goodbye is not forever, but only until we meet again.
“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 8:38–39
Until we meet again.
From Jayden’s Writing
The following words are from Jayden Nicole McCamont in her own voice:
“As I fall into the eerie abyss I fall deeper, until the shadow warms me with embrace. I look up and meet his gaze. His eyes, glowing amber like the sun before the set.
Like a fire in all of its best moments.
And then I lose myself in the labyrinth that is him.
But I’m worried because the water is so warm that I don’t know if I'll get burnt, if I'll sink too deep.
The fear is exhilarating but I’m worried I’ll get lost again.
Worried of being in the bleakness of the darkness again.
But it's worth the risk.”
