Jeff Ferguson passed away at his home in Damascus, Oregon, on March 23, 2026, after a courageous battle with melanoma.
Jeff was born on September 14, 1955, in Pontiac, Michigan, the youngest child of William and Jeanette Ferguson. The Fergusons moved from Michigan to California in 1960. Jeff spent his childhood in the City of Orange and attended Villa Park High School, where he met the love of his life, Debbie.
Jeff and Debbie married in 1979 and spent the next 46 years raising a beautiful family, traveling in their motorhome, and enjoying a full life together. They raised their family in Tustin, California, where Jeff built a successful career as a general contractor. No matter how busy work became, family always came first. He spent countless weekends coaching little league and softball and never missed an important event. His presence extended far beyond his own children; his nieces and nephews grew up with Uncle Jeff cheering, guiding, and showing up for them, too.
In 2017, Jeff and Debbie moved to Oregon, where they embraced a slower pace of life. Jeff retired and enjoyed spending his days woodworking, watching baseball, and being outdoors with his beloved dog Violet by his side. Jeff loved camping and was happiest in the mountains. Jeff’s pride and joy were his six grandchildren - Jack, Liam, Kendall, Hannah, Calvin, and Juniper. He loved spending time with them riding around “the 40” on his John Deere and teaching them the fine art of harmless mischief. The grandkids quickly learned that when Grandpa was around, a good prank wasn’t far behind.
Jeff was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife Debbie; children Bill Ferguson (wife Amy), Rosemary White, and Kelsey Stang (husband Nathan); his grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives he touched with his steady presence, generosity, and humor. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Jeanette; siblings Sandy, Kevin and Janice; and nephew Joseph.
Jeff’s family is planning a Celebration of Life in California in June 2026.
