John Ross Bradshaw

John Bradshaw passed so very peacefully with the love of his wonderful family at his lake home where he and wife Diane lived for 50 years. John grew up in the Eastmoreland neighborhood, attended Cleveland High School and graduated from University of Oregon. In 1964 he married Diane Langdon and left law school to work in sales for the family business. His father, Gene Bradshaw, had started the business in 1938 as a gas station and then auto repair specializing in transmission rebuilding. The business expanded to include an auto part store and eventually Portland Transmission Warehouse. John managed the company for over 55 years and now his son Ross is president. 42 years ago, John and right-hand man Al Stewart organized the first PTW Spring Classic auto show—it is still going strong! John was involved with numerous automotive associations over the years. His community involvement included Lakewood Center for the Arts, Salvation Army, Rotary and Lake Corp. John enjoyed running with his labrador retrievers, doing marathons, and he organized many early Hood To Coast relay teams. Later he began golfing and with some persistence was able to secure a tee time to play the Old Course at St Andrews, Scotland! He enjoyed traveling with Diane to over 55 countries. He loved the classic cars in Cuba, wonderful African safaris and historic Normandy. Good memories! He is survived by his wife Diane, married 61 years; his daughter Joell, and grandchildren Findley and Max; his son Ross (Dana), and his grandchildren Jack and Ike; and his brother Joel Bradshaw.
