June was born August 19, 1923 at home on the Springwater, Oregon farm – she was the second of three sisters: Kathleen Wendt (deceased) and Marjory Varitz, West Linn, Oregon. She is a graduate of Estacada High School. In 1946, June married Cyril Evon, who died in 1985. Of this union, two daughters were born – Susan Sheryl and Elaine Cherie. Elaine died in 1986.
June was a great grandchild of pioneers, Lewis and Leonora Lacey, who crossed the plains in 1852 and settled in Springwater. She is survived by daughter, Susan, Evon; sister, Marjory Varitz; and a number of nieces and nephews. She also shared the life of Faye Miller, a special grandchild of her longtime partner, Edwin L. Miller, who died in 2014.
A service date is pending.
