Kiki Gregos Obituary

Born in Portland, Oregon, to Gus and Mocho (Mitakou) Delistraty in Portland, Oregon.  She attended Oregon State College and was a member of Tri Delta Sorority, where she made many lifelong friendships.  She participated in track and enjoyed athletics in her college years.

Her brother and friends introduced Kiki to Peter J. Gregos, who became her beloved husband.  They married in Nov 1949 and enjoyed nearly 64 years together.  They were very devoted to each other and were a wonderful example of unity.  They raised a daughter, Diane (who died in March 1971 and remained ever present in their hearts), and three sons, John (Karen), Tim and Peter, who all live in Portland.  She was active in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral for many years, where she also made many dear friendships and enjoyed celebrating her wonderful Greek heritage.

Kiki worked as a bookkeeper after the children were raised, but her family was always her primary focus.  Their happiness was her greatest wish, one she repeated frequently in her final days.  She and Pete enjoyed visiting with her brother, sister, her dear cousin, their families, and with her many friends.  She was simply a delightful person and together they were a delightful couple.  They enjoyed people and people enjoyed them.  Wherever they were, laughter was always present.

Kiki was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Diane; her loving husband, Pete; her brother John and his wife, Mary; her sister Catherine Eagle and husband, John; and many dear friends.  She is survived by children John (Karen); Tim and Peter; and grandchildren Shannon (Jeff) Hamilton, Troy, Chris, Nathaniel and Kevin; great-grandchildren, Haley, Madison, Dillon and Dominic; one great-great-grandchild, Carter, two nieces and four nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Tuesday, May 4th, at 11:00am, with fellowship for friends and family following offsite.  Internet will be at Willamette National Cemetery on May 5th at 11:00am.  Donations in Kiki’s memory are welcomed to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Portland.
