Lillian Joyce Roberts of Johnson City, OR, was born July 15, 1940 in Ontario, OR, to parents Norman Cote of Willow City, ND and Beatrice Boyd of Alberta, Canada. Lillian bka Joyce, passed away quietly surrounded by family on January 18, 2019 in her home suffering from a long illness.
Predeceased by two sisters, Betty Jean Bodkin of Albany, OR, Sharon Hildreth of Roanoke, VA, and her infant son Roy Glen Ellis of Norfolk, VA.
Surviving is her loving husband of 37 years, Shawn M. Roberts of Johnson City, OR; her eldest son, Clyde W. Ellis of Johnson City, OR; daughter, Joy D. L’Ecuyer of Fitchburg, MA; sister, Gwenda Matlock of Lebanon, OR, and 8 grandchildren.
Joyce obtained her GED through the Urban Indian Council of NE Portland. Was a Johnson City council member for a number of years, as well as an Avon representative for 10+ years and was her own best customer. She enjoyed reading, but she was best known for her sewing and crocheting.
Services were held at the University of Portland chapel followed by heart-filled words at her burial site at Riverview Abbey.
She will be missed by the ones who truly loved and cared about her the most.
