Linda Nadine Van Note, 71, died peacefully in the early hours of January 9, 2017 in her own bed holding the hand of her husband. Linda had been in a fight to delay the progression of pancreatic cancer for the past 19 months.
Linda was born in Portland as the middle child of five to Armand and Fern Deich. Her brother Nickey and her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her brothers Michael (Patty) and Scott, sister Georgia Kasch (Floyd), her husband of 38 years Michael Van Note and “more than two” fur-kids.
Linda graduated from Grant High School in 1963 and entered the clerical part of the insurance industry where she remained for 25 years. It was while she was working at an insurance agency that she met her future husband, who quickly introduced her to the joy of living with cats.
The family wants to thank Providence Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided Linda over the final two months of her life.
A private interment ceremony will be held at Riverview Abbey for immediate family.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to SnowCap Community Charities, PO Box 160, Fairview OR 97024 or see their website at www.snowcap.org for further donation information.
