With love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Louise Vick on January 21, 2025, at the age of 69. She passed peacefully at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, surrounded by her beloved children.
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Louise was the cherished daughter of Don and Susan Henderson and the adored sister of Don Henderson Jr. She grew up in the Eastmoreland neighborhood and attended Cleveland High School, where she was actively involved in school life, including the homecoming committee and yearbook staff. Her vibrant spirit carried her to Oregon State University, where she studied textile sciences and merchandise marketing. A proud member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, Louise graduated summa cum laude in 1977, leaving OSU with lifelong friendships and cherished memories.
Louise's career path was as dynamic as she was. From working at the historic Sweet Tibbie Dunbar to serving as a CNA and later as a dedicated sales associate at Target for 15 years, she was known for her unwavering work ethic, kindness, and infectious can-do attitude.
Beyond her work, Louise found joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time with her beloved dogs, baking, and crafting beautiful sewing projects. In recent years, she embraced a more relaxed pace, enjoying slow mornings with coffee and cookies, always accompanied by her faithful companions, Lulu and Wesley. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, husband Bryan Vick, and three dearly loved dogs, Maddie, Mitzie and Wesley.
She leaves behind her three children, Brian, Sally, and Austin, as well as three grandchildren, Rigo, Aubri, and Amaya, along with many treasured friends.
A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate Louise’s life will be held at Riverview Abbey, 319 S Taylors Ferry Rd, Portland, OR 97219, at 2:00 PM, with a reception to follow.
Louise will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and the love she shared with those around her.
She will be deeply missed.
