Mary was born in Norton Green, Isle of Wight, England in 1928, to Ruth and George Gregory. She lived there throughout World War 2. In 1952 she moved to America to join her fiancé, Christopher Fylan, who had emigrated to Yakima, Washington. They soon began their new family, and eventually moved to Portland, Oregon, in 1965, where they remained the rest of their lives.
Mary was a full-time mother, so she never retired. She eventually got promoted to Grand Mother, and then Great Grandmother. Besides taking great care of her family, Mary thoroughly enjoyed gardening, painting, and many other arts and crafts throughout her life. Her paintings are still enjoyed by her entire family.
Mary passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She is survived by her three sons, Malcolm, Greg, and Brian; nine grandchildren- Amy, David, Michelle, Gabi, Max, Grace, Jason, Lauren, and Rachel; four Great grandchildren- Landon, Isla, Clark, and Meyer. And of course, her loving daughters-in-law, Sue, Kris, and Annette. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers Eric and Ernie, and her first child, Steve.
Services will be Sunday, April 10th at 1:00pm at Riverview Abbey Funeral Home, where she will join her husband in eternity. The family suggests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
