Nora Therese Harrington

Nora, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, died unexpectedly March 23, 2025 in her home in her beloved Laurelhurst neighborhood. The 7th of 8 children, she was preceded in death by her parents, Bernie and Madeline, her brothers Tom and Pat, and her sister Susan. Nora is survived by her four loving siblings John (Valerie), Mark (Catherine), Kate Rice (Jim), Brian (Deirdre), her sister-in-law Kelley (Pat),  along with 23 nieces and nephews and 16 great nieces and nephews.

Nora attended All Saints Grade School and St. Mary’s Academy, where she graduated in 1976. In 1982 she joined the family business, Harrington Concrete Bomanite, where she worked faithfully alongside her father and brothers for 30 years. In 1999, she assumed co-ownership with her brother, Tom, leading the company for the next decade.

Deeply caring and fiercely loyal, Nora placed family at the center of her life. She had a special fondness for her nephews and nieces, who affectionately called her Aunt "Sunny" – a nickname that perfectly captured her bright presence in their lives. With her quick wit and keen intelligence, Nora was a passionate keeper of family history. She delighted everyone with entertaining stories from her and her siblings’ childhoods and rich tales of her grandparents' history. Nora was intensely proud of her family and its Irish and French heritage.

The Oregon Coast held a special place in Nora's heart. She was at home on the beach in Lincoln City, enjoying the sunshine and the company of the family she so loved. Nora was creative, had an eye for color and design, and was a wonderful gardener and a talented chef. We will miss her humor, her laughter, and her warm spirit.

A private family Funeral Mass will be celebrated at All Saints Catholic Church with burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
