Richard James Greco was born on July 6, 1952 to Clara Ann Greco and I. James “Gene” Greco Jr. in Portland, OR and passed away on September 1, 2025. He is survived by his wife Karen (after 41 years of marriage), his two children Jason and Jennifer (Nick), and his sisters Shirley and Vicki.
Richard worked at Intel for 28 years as both a hardware and software engineer helping design processors for servers. Rich was a brilliant, kind, creative, funny and extremely caring person. Whether it was stacking firewood or fixing a computer, he was always willing to go the extra mile to help the people who were important to him. He loved to cook, and was often known to say that recipes were “like the pirates code in Pirates of the Caribbean, more like guidelines anyway”. He poured his endless creativity into making up recipes and spice rubs and making his own minis to play Dungeons and Dragons, and he loved a wide variety of books, movies and music. He also loved to fish and work in his garden. His favorite hobbies though, were the ones that were important to the people he loved. He loved to West Coast Swing dance with his wife Karen and both of them were very involved in the West Coast Swing community. He was also known to learn a wide variety of hobbies along with his children. Whether it was playing Pokemon or Magic the Gathering, or attending sporting events in any weather, if it was important to his family, it was important to him.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to American Parkinson’s Disease Association Northwest chapter.
