Richard A. “Dick” Sneath passed away in Portland, OR, on Saturday, July 12, 2025. He is survived by his spouse Ruth A Sneath; daughter Heather D Sneath; son, Richard A Sneath, Jr.; siblings: GA Sneath, Virginia Hippenstiel, and Patia Binner; and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by siblings Donna, Barbara, and Sara.
Dick graduated from David Douglas High School in 1960 where he was on the wrestling team. He put himself through his higher education and Graduated from Multnomah College in 1963. His area of focus was political science. He graduated from Portland State University and earned his bachelor’s degree in 1966.
Dick worked for General Services Administration and received many service awards during his 29 years of service.
Dick will be remembered for always smoking his pipe, his passion for fishing, and for keeping his yard immaculate. He enjoyed arguing politics, broadening his knowledge of history, and watching Chicago sports.
Dick will be privately laid to rest in River View Cemetery in SW Portland.
