Born in Philadelphia March 6, 1937, Bob grew up in Salem. He graduated from Stanford in 1959, was a finance officer in the UAF from 1959-1962, and earned an MBA from Columbia University in 1964. He was a securities Investment analyst (VP) for Morgan Stanley for 10 years and then joined Potlach Corp as a treasurer in San Francisco for another 10 years. He married Evelyn Nelson Kitzmiller in 1983 and became self-employed financial consultant.
His volunteer work centered on the Presbyterian Church serving in a variety of capacities including Deacon and Elder in NYC, Elder in Salem and Palm Springs. He served seven years on the Presbyterian Church Foundation in Kentucky, 10 years as a trustee at the San Francisco Theological Seminary, 10 years as a Trustee at the University of Oregon Foundation and 20 years as chair of investment committee for the Oregon Community Foundation. He and Evelyn moved to Terwilliger plaza in 2014 where he served on the finance committee.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children, John, Julie, and Stuart, their spouses, Peggy, Larry, Lori; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; also brothers, Marcus, Paul, Bruce (deceased 2022).
Family services will be at first Presbyterian Portland in April.
